Great shake mix! December 4, 2008 My brother nearly lives of this stuff! He swears by it -- says it gives him lots of energy without consuming empty calories and caffeine. I only occasionally drink it, usually if I haven't been eating well OR if I feel like I'm coming down with a cold. Works wonders! I like to mix it with vanilla soy milk... it tastes a lot like granola and goes down pretty easy as long as you don't let it sit too long (then it turns into sludge).
LOVE IT! May 31, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Wow. I was initially surprised at other reviewers thoughts about the taste, until I remembered my first hesitation. I wanted an energy drink and the manager at the local vitamin shop suggested several things, but I didn't want the same old vanilla or chocolate. I read the label, and he said it tasted like oatmeal. Well, to me, oatmeal is almost as nasty as mayonaise, but he insisted I should give it a go, with juice instead of milk. I love smoothies, so I put a few ice cubes, a banana, 1 scoop of the powder, and o.j. in a small blender. Man, is it good! Now I use oj or mangosteen or grape juice (the grape will give it a funky color), and either banana, strawberries, or any frozen berries. I make it in one of those small Magic Bullet blenders and fill 1/2 ice so it's really thick. I actually crave it and would describe it (with my eyes closed) as a slightly sweet creamy pineapple-banana smoothie flavor. Thank God it doesn't taste like oatmeal (and no, not like drinking granola either). I don't crave sweets so it's not too much, just enough sweet and I feel a lot better and more awake an hour after drinking it than coffee or tea.

This Stuff Is REALLY Great! November 23, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Rarely have I run across a product that really lives up to its name, but 'Source of Life Energy Shake' does just that. It's a comprehensive combination of nutrients that assist in not only giving the user a boost of energy, but also supplies many of the needed nutrients not found in the daily diet of most people. I highly recommend this product.
A health drink that actually tastes good...make that DELICIOUS! August 11, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Wow! I was stunned the first time I tried this energy shake. The most I hoped for was that it might taste half-way decent, but to my very pleasant surprise, it tasted wonderful! It was not a feat of iron-willpower at all to drink. I wasn't stopping to gag a little every few seconds, like I have with other health drinks. I think it tastes like an oatmeal cookie, but creamy, and when I looked at the can's label, the product was described as having a "creamy granola flavor", so I was pleased that the description was true to the product, unlike other shake powders that tout yumminess and taste like something you wouldn't feed your dog! In addition to delicious flavor, I find that it is very filling, which has been helpful to my dieting efforts, and it definitely boosts my energy. I have always struggled with getting an adequate workout, because I would tire too easily, but after drinking this energy shake, I can really push myself hard and burn significant calories - a first for me! Finally, I feel good about all the vitamins, minerals, and whole food concentrates I am getting with this product, especially since everything is all-natural.
I have used this shake powder with Dole's Peach-Orange-Mango juice, which is really good, but my favorite way to drink it is: 1 scoop energy shake powder; 8 oz. Odwalla Superfood drink; 8 oz. Mountain High all-natural yoghurt (vanilla or lemon); 1 banana. (Actually, this recipe makes enough for me to drink half, and refrigerate the rest for later.) This product mixes well with a blender or salad dressing shaker, but I don't recommend mixing it with a spoon (stays kind of clumpy). Also, I have never used more than 1 scoop in my drinks, and the flavor and consistency have been perfect for me (I think 2 scoops would be too much, but I think 2 scoops are recommended only if you will be mixing it with water, and not something thicker, like juice or milk).
Try this product - it is SO good! I will definitely be re-ordering it when I run out.
